Our story began in 1980 when we started selling appliances in an old house on the corner of Wilma Street & Notre Dame Ave in Sudbury. Sudbury Electric was the name of the store at its inception. In 1988 we purchased a building at 685 Notre Dame, operating under the banner Furniture Unlimited-Sudbury Appliances-Mattress Factory Outlet.  Having so many names made it difficult for customers to locate us in the phone book. However, all of our commercials at the time ended with our slogan, “Home of The Notre Dame Boys!”. Naturally, customers started calling us, “The Notre Dame Boys”.  A customer even wrote us a cheque once, payable to “The Notre Dame Boys” (which we couldn’t cash!). We decided to simply go with it, and we changed the store name to “The Notre Dame Boys” soon after. After 26 years at our 685 Notre Dame location, we moved to our larger warehouse building at 555 Notre Dame in June of 2014.

After 40 years in business, many of our staff are still on this journey with us. Some for over 36 years! You may have even heard about some of them in our radio commercials. We are proud to be a locally owned business serving Sudbury and outlying communities.
